Nuo Yang
Co-Founder & Board Chair
Nuo Yang is the Board Chair and co-founder of RiseMoms Alliance, where she leads the board in overseeing governance, setting strategic direction, and building partnerships to advance the organization’s mission.
With a Master’s degree in Economics from Boston University, Nuo brings 9 years of experience in data analytics and digital marketing. She specializes in data-informed decision-making, performance tracking, and digital strategy—skills she now applies to RiseMoms' development and impact evaluation.
She is currently pursuing a Certificate in Gerontology at the University of Washington and has volunteered extensively in nursing homes and dementia care programs. Based in Seattle, she is the mother of two young children (ages 6 and 3) and enjoys hiking, camping, and family movie nights.
Nuo co-founded RiseMoms Alliance to build the kind of support network she wished existed for mothers—one rooted in practical skills, peer connection, and renewed confidence.
Fan Guo
Co-Founder & Executive Director
Fan brings over two decades of accounting and financial leadership experience to RiseMoms. She holds a degree in Accounting from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in China.
Throughout her career, she has served as a senior finance executive across state-owned enterprises, government agencies, and publicly listed companies.
After relocating to the U.S., Fan earned certifications in Bookkeeping and as an Enrolled Agent, and transitioned into the American nonprofit and small business landscape. In addition to her financial background, she offers strong leadership in operations and project management—ensuring programs are implemented with structure, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
As a mother of four, Fan spent many years focused on raising her children. This experience gave her deep empathy for mothers navigating the challenges of returning to the workforce. Motivated by her own journey, she co-founded RiseMoms to help mothers build confidence, gain financial independence, and reclaim their career paths through entrepreneurship and skill-building.
In her free time, Fan enjoys gardening, table tennis, and dance fitness.
Jing Zhang
Board Member, Treasurer
Dr. Jing Zhang is a seasoned bioanalytical scientist with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and over a decade of experience in pharmaceutical research and development. Her work has spanned academia, contract research organizations, and major pharmaceutical companies, including her latest role as Principal Scientist at Pfizer. Jing has deep expertise in mass spectrometry, bioanalytical method development, and regulatory compliance, having supported multiple drug development programs from discovery to IND filing.
As the Board Treasurer, Jing applies her analytical mindset and attention to detail to ensure sound financial stewardship and accountability. Her experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex scientific projects adds a valuable perspective to our board's strategic and operational planning.
Outside of work, Jing finds joy in reading novels, spending time with her family, and serving her community through faith and spiritual practice. She is passionate about supporting other moms in finding purpose and strength in their personal and professional journeys.
Ziyun Yang
Board Member
Ziyun Yang is a board member of RiseMoms Alliance, contributing her expertise in journalism, media strategy, and digital education to support the organization’s mission. As a non-executive director based in Boston, she offers strategic insight and creative input on program design, communications, and knowledge sharing.
Ziyun is CEO of YX Communications and a senior advisor and researcher at the journalism schools of Peking University and Tsinghua University. She also supports Tencent Foundation’s online learning initiatives. Her professional background includes senior editorial roles at Tencent News and China Reform Magazine, as well as leading online education projects for journalists and nonprofit professionals across China.
A published author and poet, Ziyun is the mother of an 11-year-old daughter. In her free time, she enjoys reading poetry and writing.
She joined RiseMoms Alliance to help ensure that mothers’ ideas, creativity, and ambitions are seen, supported, and shared—across communities and beyond borders.
